  • 1.  Reordering the columns for the registrant extract

    Posted 04-28-2023 12:24

    Hi,

I am trying to reorder the columns for my saved registrant extract report. When it is exported to Excel, the columns are currently in a random order. In the fields section of the report, it has the below message. The problem is, I can't seem to find the 'Edit panel on the grid widget' before I export the report. Hoping someone can shed light on this.

    Thanks,
    Will

I'll say that is an error on cvent's part.  There is no Edit panel. Every report has that phrase. Probably something built into the template of the report page.

    Hi Steven,

Thanks for the reply! That would make sense.

I'm guessing there is no way to reorder the columns for a saved report then?

    Thanks,
    Will

That report is an ad hoc report. Spits out everything.
What are you looking to export? You should be able to find a report that suits your needs.

I explored this in the past with Cvent Help Desk.  The Registrant Extract is hard coded as it is.  Instead I create several other custom reports, including one where I extract all of the fields we are using for the event.  I have it scheduled to run every Sunday at midnight so I always have a 'backup' type of report to refer to if I needed to.

Thanks Michele. I explored some of the other reports as you suggested and found the registrant details report allowed me to alter the column order before exporting!

    Thanks again.

I have found that the columns pull in Excel in the order you select the fields.  I know that some Cvent created reports can't be edited to the extent you would need so you may want to create one with the columns in the order you want.
