  • 1.  Separate Happy Hour Registation - is it possible?

    Posted 02-07-2024 23:40

We typically utilize Cvent Events for lead capture and Cvent Appointments to set up meetings at third party trade shows we attend.  At this point I have our "event" setup in Cvent and the appointments event linked and my staff are registered as staff attendees. For this particular event we are hosting a happy hour at the trade show which I would like to use the OnArrival tool to check-in guests for. I have set-up a "Happy Hour Attendee" registration item in the event, and once I publish it the link should work for guests to register for our happy hour, but I'm not sure if this is the right route for this. Is there a way to set up a separate happy hour registration that is linked to the event we use for lead capture or our appointments? Or have I set it up correctly just by using a specific registration item?

    Hi Rhona,

    Hope you are well!

I checked your event and see that you have created 'Happy Hour Attendee' as an admission item. Please note that one invitee can select one admission item only. If you want the invitees to also be able to select 'happy Hour' item along with the other admission item, I would suggest you to create this as an optional session instead of an admission item in the event and delete this as an admission item.

You can refer to the following article to know how to create a session : Creating Sessions == LINK : : https://support.cvent.com/s/communityarticle/Creating-Sessions

The invitees will be able to select the admission item and then select the session if they want to attend happy hour. However, since your account has OnArrival Basic license, you will only be able to checkin the invitees for the event. If you are creating a name badge for these invitees in the event, then you can add the {[C-MY SESSIONS:ANC]} data tag in the badge to display the session name the invitee is registered for.

Please note that session check-in is available for Premium OnArrival licenses only. If you want, you can contact your account manager to discuss if you would like to upgrade to Premium OnArrival in your account. You can also check the following article to know what all benefits you can get with Premium OnArrival license :

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
