  • 1.  Venue Sourcing Adoption

    Posted 08-28-2025 09:15

If you’re active in the Cvent Community, chances are you see the value of the Cvent platform. Before joining Cvent, I was known as the “techie” one advocating for new digital solutions at the organization – often an uphill battle!

Why is it sometimes so hard to convince others in the organization to try something new?

In an upcoming collaborative workshop on September 3, I’ll be discussing exactly that question with customers as it relates to venue sourcing via the Cvent Supplier Network (CSN). We’ll bring together event professionals who recognize the value of sourcing via CSN but face challenges in achieving broader adoption within their organizations. We'll cover setting goals for your sourcing program, overcoming common objections, and stakeholder mapping.

The workshop is part of our Center of Excellence Workshops series, hosted by our very own Customer Success Managers! You can read more about the Center of Excellence concept here

I’d love to see you there!

But why wait until then? Let’s start the discussion now:

    ·         Have you encountered “tech resistance” in your job?

    ·         What reasons have you heard for slower adoption of online sourcing?

    ·         What success have you had in convincing others to try it?

Excited for these workshops!   Always interested in hearing how other customers and other industries navigate their events landscape!

I think the "tech resistance" that we typically encounter is that hearing the word "Cvent" can sound intimidating and can refer to so many aspects of the tool.  Once we break it down into smaller, more understandable pieces, and expose features one at a time, it does get utilized and adopted.  It also helps to offer tech up as solutions for specific concerns or issues (examples:  how do I make onsite check-in easier or how do I make it easier for attendees to find sessions, etc.).
