Following this! People at my organization have differed in how they handled auto-assignment of Reg Types. For one team, they handled all internal events, so they'd assign them to contacts at an account level.
Because the event I have managed for 5 years has both internal and external attendees, I used registration settings. My internal reg path was limited by email domain (include only X, Y, and Z). My external reg path excluded X, Y, and Z, and all the "free email domains" such as Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook, Hotmail, etc. That ensured only business domains were used and I could export attendee reports and use the domains to see how many people from which company were coming.
I agree that auto-assigning a reg type to a guest would be the smoothest experience and I'm interested to know if it can be done in Flex, or if it is on the radar as an enhancement.

I'll ask again.
Is there a way for a guest registration to default to a particular reg type like it did in classic?
Right now the one and only reg type for a guest needs to be selected. An unnecessary step.

I'm building a simple flex registration.
No admission.
2 sessions.
2 reg types.
Member reg type can selectSession 1
Session 2
Member Guest reg type can only selectSession 2
In Classic I would use 2 reg types and the guest would be Member Guest.
I don't see how to do that in flex.
And I want to be sure that either reg type selects at least one session.
Without an admission set to minimum 1 session, can I do it with an advanced rule?
