Hi, community members! We're back with another Tip of the Week.
So, who's preparing for a hybrid event, whether that be in just a few weeks/months or maybe later in the year and beyond? No matter the timeline, you'll want to familiarize yourself with the Attendee Hub's Event App, as this will be your go-to app for your events.
Since much of our industry has only be managing virtual events, you may have been using the Attendee Hub without fully diving into what the Event App can offer you.
To make it simple and seamless, all the content you add in your Flex registration event, such as attendees, sessions, and speakers, will automatically integrate into the app. You'll be able to configure the look and feel of your app through the Attendee Website and App Builder, which you are likely familiar with already if you've already managed a virtual event with the Attendee Hub. With the event app, you'll be able to control how the home screen will appear to attendees before, during, and after the event.
Here are 5 key points to know and use to have a successful app experience:
- Have a secure experience for your event and attendees β Choose your privacy such as Invite Only, Login Required, and Hidden.
- Enhance your app design - Customize your event theme colors, which will apply to both the event app and the attendee website, keeping it branded and unified across both experiences. Then, continue to customize your colors and design for the app navigation menu, app header, and app graphics. For the graphics, you can add the event icon and splash screen images. Be sure to use the Attendee Hub Graphics Cheat Sheet for guidance here.
- There are 4 main sections to get familiar with β Home, Schedule, Profile, and More
- There are many features and settings to check out through the Home page. Happening Now and Up Next are key features to keep your attendees on track.
- Schedule shows both My Schedule and All Sessions β these show in calendar view and can even be filtered for the attendee to easily find what they're looking for.
- Profile β where they can see many details, particularly Announcements. These are your notifications which we know is vital when you are in-person at a venue. Didn't you miss the notifications of "5 minutes left of break to grab your coffee and return to the ballroom!" π
- More β Customize and organize similar pages together using page groups, such as in-person attendees and exhibitors. Several pages can be found here, particularly Event Location.
- Use registration types to limit visibility of sessions and push notifications, such as virtual and in-person. More visibility control is on the roadmap for the Event App, as well, so share any feedback below!
- Use the event and session feedback surveys - You can display the Share Your Thoughts section on the Home page to ensure they always have easy access to any survey available to them. With the return to in-person being new for most attendees, feedback will be more important than ever.
Questions for You:
- What is your go-to push notification with any event app you've managed before?
- If you've already used the Event App through the Attendee Hub, whether for a virtual or in-person event, tell your peers your favorite feature or experience you had with it!
