Yes, I'm sure it is possible. It will depend on what your board meetings are like - are there fees involved, how do you envision the registration process to be, are there sessions offered, are you collecting travel requests, etc. If it's just a small one-day meeting and all you need is to collect a few fields and registration questions from your invitees, I'd suggest using an Express event.
