What is the trend in the use of mailing address in the registration process?  We have always made it required when registering as we have seen value in storing this data.  I would like to know if having this information required may result in a poor user experience.  Is it better to have it as optional or not used?
 

A couple of my registrations require me to mail attendess tickets and credentials. Generally, if you are not going to use the information collected, don't ask.  Having the data stored makes the next registration go a bit quicker by the attendee not needing to fill the address again. That is assuming the person reads it and notes any changes,
