Does anyone know what the data tag 'Contact Membership Amount Paid - {[C-CONTACT MEM PAYMENT AMT]},' which is available as an option in membership notification emails, really returns?

Is it the amount the contact has paid for memberships over their lifetime? The amount of the most recent membership payment?

What I want to do is to have an email that is an invoice for a member who needs to renew soon, which will show the cost of that person's member type.

I know, I know, no one uses the membership functionality....

Hi Karen,

This data tag pulls the value within the "Amount Received" field of the most recent membership item. So if you go to someone's contact record > Click to Membership Management > Scroll down to Membership Item Orders, it will pull the most recent order, then the value in "Amount Received."
