I have run a couple Classic events that have no admission items, yet they do have registration. The help copy seems to be misleading in this area. "An admission item is a ticket to your event. In order to register, every invitee must select one and only one."

I am trying to help someone else build templates for similar types of events, and am looking for help defining this.

Hi Jennifer-

Even if the event is not charging for the registration from an admission item, it still needs to connect the sessions and/or optional items to a generic admission/ticket item. Yes, the terminology is confusing and this was created when they brought in the express events. I would describe it as the connector between the registrant and the event items or even the admission item tells the system what to bring up next in the registration process. Therefore if it is not there, then the system won't know or understand what is supposed to come up next. :-)
