Lock device and automatic session progression: Gone are the days of onsite staff checking attendees into the wrong session or using checkout mode at the wrong time. Onsite staff won't have to make any decisions, and rather they can focus on checking in attendees. With this release, you can lock a device into either the event, a session, or a location, and then automatically move through the session schedule in a given location.

In Event Core, you can set a check-in window for all sessions at your event. With smart session timing, sessions have at least 10 minutes before the start time to check in attendees, but could have up to 40 minutes if there are no sessions following behind. Or, define your own check-in window, but these settings will apply to every session for the event.

Locking a device: In OnArrival, you can lock onsite staff into either the event level, a specific session, or location. Configure which features are also available to the locked onsite staff member: turn on or off: access to the attendee list, automatically move through the session schedule, require a password for access control override, and register someone new on site.

Once an onsite staff member is locked, they won't have access to the side or overflow menu. This means that you'll need to unlock the device to make any updates, such as locations, settings, or switch between check-in and checkout modes.

Moving through session schedule automatically: If a device is locked into a location (only when a session is assigned and follow session schedule setting is turned on), an onsite staff member won't have to change sessions manually. The app will do this for them based on the schedule set on the web. Locked devices will just need to check in attendees until the time has come to move to the next session. When it's time to move forward, the onsite staff member will see a blue screen telling them it's time. If there is no active session, the onsite staff can see the next upcoming session along with the time until next check-in window starts, session capacity, registered attendees, and any access control rules, such as walk-ins.

Additional improvements: An onsite staff member who isn't locked into the device will be able to understand clearly when they are in a session that doesn't have an active check-in window. If an onsite staff member is in a session that has ended, the overview screen provides hints describing when the check-in window ended or when the next one starts. If an onsite staff member attempts to check in attendees into an inactive session, they'll see a screen asking them to confirm their action.

Note: To use these features, make sure your device is running on at least iOS 10 or above.
