Thanks for responding,
@Kristi White. All of the abandoned registrations in Invitee Management are either "Not in Address Book" or "Not Invited" -- there are none listed as current contacts, which I know cannot be accurate, given the fact that we invited 20,000+ people.
The report, however, includes both people who
were invited and people who were
not (not to mention it has several hundred more who
were
not than the list in Invitee Management does) -- which leads me to believe the report is more accurate.
So I guess I answered my own question, but it really makes no sense why there should be any discrepancy at all (let alone one this large!) between the two sources. Can anyone from Cvent explain?

Hi Krysten!
That is a big gap! One question I have would be whether or not all 671 people who show up on your abandoned registration report are also in your invite list. My experience is that if I have an invitation list (even if it is not private) that when those people click through an invitation or otherwise start to register but don't finish that Cvent recognizes them and tracks them in the abandoned registration under Invitee Management.
If your invitation and registration is open and/or is able to be forwarded, and someone who is not on your invite list abandons a registration, it would be logged in the more broad Abandoned Registrations report. I tend to rely more in the abandoned registrations in invitee management for events where I'm tracking specific people. It looks like you might be looking to use abandoned registrations to maybe analyze other metrics such as communication effectiveness, in that case, the broader report would be more useful when comparing registrations, reach, and repeat customers?
Not sure if this helped or not.

I am trying to analyze abandoned registrations from our recent conference. When I look at the abandoned registrations list in Invitee Management, it lists only 69. However, when I use the abandoned registrations report, it shows 671 results.
Does anyone know why there's such an enormous gap in the numbers depending on the method used to pull the data? And most importantly, which is the accurate count?
