  • 1.  Speakers not showing VAH website

    I can't figure out why my list of speakers is showing up on the mobile app but it is not showing up on the webpage for Virtual Attendee Hub.  I have looked everywhere I can think of and no luck.  I have enabled to show "featured speakers" on the home page but they are not showing on the webpage, only the app. Anyone know how to enable it to show a page for the speakers in Attendee Hub?  We have attendees listed but not speakers.  Speakers DO show on the Event website, but not Attendee Hub website. very strange.

    I was told by my Attendee Hub specialist that this is as-designed and  you can't show your speakers on the Attendee Hub website, only the app.  Same goes for a few other features that show up on that page (can't remember them off the top of my head)

    This is correct, speakers are not displayed on the Attendee Hub. Such a pity, because since in the app the speakers are linked to their sessions, it is a great shortcut to look up a speaker and see ALL of his or her sessions.

    There are a couple of things you can do to help attendees search for sessions by speaker:
    1. Create a custom filter (make a Speaker Name custom session field) and add the speaker name to that session field, and add the filter to the reg website and in the Agenda on the hub.
    2. Add the speaker name to the description of each session so that it is searchable in the session field.
    3. Create a custom card, single link, that leads back to the speaker page on the reg website. But I hate taking attendees OUT of the hub to go back to the reg website.

    Hi Jami, 

    You indeed can't have a speaker's page yet in the Attendee Hub. However, Custom Pages are now available: with a lot of patience and will, you could build a Speakers' page using that feature. You could even list their session with links to the session pages, but again that's a lot of manula work.

    Thanks Béline, that's a thought, but we're all volunteer and no time to mess around with building a page manually that has to be constantly updated as speakers cancel and/or change. It's enough to just modify the sessions. The custom page is pretty limited in what you can do with it (as you know) though we have used for other things. 

    Being that VAH is sort of new, I am hopeful that displaying the speakers carries over to a later release where everything is integrated.
