  • 1.  Display options in Agenda widget

I am having trouble customizing the session lists/agenda widget on my event site.

Specifically, I would like to highlight the keynote address by displaying more information up front than for the other presentations. Is there a way to do that for one session only?

Right now, every session displays Session Title, Category, & Time. A description of the session is visible only by clicking on the expand arrow. I would like the description of ONLY the keynote to be visible without expanding the block.

Similarly, I'm running into some bad breaks on the Session Titles. Is there a way to insert the hard return where I want it?

    TIA!

    Hi Andi,

I'm afraid those widgets are not super customizable. You could go in the sessions you want to highlight and change the color of the description text directly there. Alternatively, you could add highlighted sessions as a text box above your session widget. Not ideal, I know.

In the Attendee Hub, if you are using that, you can have specific sessions featured on the home page, though once you are looking ta the All Sessions page, the setup is very similar to the session widget you describe.

    Cheers,

Hi Andi - We add the descriptions under each session and they show without having to click on the arrow. Make sure that in the site designer, click on the agenda and then in the options that appear on the right-hand side that Description is activated.

Regarding the bad breaks in the Session titles - we have found that if it's a long session title, the title does wrap in weird places and there isn't a way to change that.

I don't believe that's within the capabilities of the widget, because that level of customizability just isn't there. What you could try (at least for the website, this wouldn't work for the registration), is highlighting the Keynote session at the top of your agenda page using text and image widgets and then having the standard agenda widget follow that. Wouldn't be exactly the same, but it would be a way of highlighting that one session and having it showcased in a different way than the rest of the agenda.

Hi Jessica - That option is available within the widget and we use it all the time. And it will work for both the website and the registration process. See the screenshot below:

I think you'll find the answer by combining the suggestions of Jessica Johnson and Linda White.

This sounds to me like more of a "How do I best market the Keynote" rather than just a nuts-and-bolts widget customization question.

First, make your Keynote session INCLUDED in registration. Next, highlight the Keynote session on the main page and sessions page (Agenda) of your registration website.

Use the Cvent Event Management emails to highlight/market the session to potential attendees. And if you DO make the session "Included," then you can use a Session Registration email to remind people 10 or so minutes before it to log in and "don't miss the session!"
