  • 1.  Finding the appropriate size for Header picture

Hi, I would like to enquire what would be the best way to come up with a header that suits the size of the website for website that is 950 Pixels wide.
I tried to resize and squeeze my picture many times and even did trial and error in the past but want to know what is the best way to go about this?

If it's 950 wide, how tall is it? Normal website headers are 1024 wide, but yours should be around 950 and 135px tall. You will need to resize your picture so it's 135 tall and then it should auto-configure the height if you use a picture program. If the image looks shrunken or squeezed, you'll most likely need to work with a designer to sort out.

Have you tried cropping the photos? Ideally you should use a design program to make your header and then you can set your artboard to an adequate width and height (playing around with the height to try and get a nice sized header that's visible). If you don't have programs, if you're procuring your photos on sites like they actually have a built in editor where you can crop and adjust to a size and then end up with a high-res photo already sized to what you need. I find 'manipulating' a photo to just match your width and height is never the answer because then it can become skewed. You need to crop it (cvent also has a build in photo option to do this but I find it's not always the best)

If you have access to Adobe Suite products I would suggest you use Photoshop or InDesign. If that's not an option then perhaps someone in your marketing department could assist. I would suggest using Microsoft Paint or Word only as a very last resort.

It sounds like you might be trying to "resize" and "squeeze" inside of Cvent with a picture that is not the right size. Use image software such as Photoshop, Illustrator... or even to size your photo appropriately for the space. Be sure that you are only uploading the correct size so that you don't end up with a mess in your Cvent photo files. I also always shrink my image files so that they don't take as long to load. Use for this - it's free!
