Hi Gemma-
You could hide sections in the registration process that would be enabled by you when you want them to complete the task. You would need to send an email to the registrants letting them know how to login to their registration and make the necessary updates based on the task you need completed.

Does anyone know any options for creating a task list for registrants on the event website? We need people to complete a number of tasks before the event. Our current workaround is for them to download a document planner but would prefer an online solution.
