I noticed Audience Segments has recently been added under General.If you are not using Attendee Hub, what would this be useful for?
Following because I would love to hear input as well! I'm pleased that this feature is here and it will be massively helpful for the Event App, but I'd love to hear ways it might be utilized in registration that isn't currently covered by admission item, registration type, or session segmentation. I'm sure there are some cool variants I'm not thinking of!
It definitely seems pretty equivalent to registration type or admission item, so now I'm curious as well - even if using it in Attendee Hub
I was reading a bit further on this today, and I think I could possibly see a use case if you had a group that were maybe already segmented by registration type but you wanted to drill down further (ie - "staff" registrations where you wanted to single out only the executives as a segment) in order to send some targeted email information or make specific info or questions visible during registration. However, I don't believe those features are available yet; the segmentation is only usable in Attendee Hub.
Hi Tori, I am struggling to find a use case for this too...what are you using it for in the event app?
It's such a recent addition I haven't had the opportunity to use it in practice yet, but I have an event coming up where we will be segmenting the audience to send out push notifications for specific groups. There also might be some pages the client will want visible to certain groups of people and not others so I can segment for that as well. I was glad this was implemented before that event takes place this fall!
that makes sense. ive been thinking about a way to not have as many reg types and put them into segements instead but not sure if it'll work that way. thanks for the reply!
I've used it a few times already for Push Notifications in Attendee Hub. The use was during an incentive program, so was more focus on activities and personalized schedules. I created segments that excluded attendees who already departed the event (to send departure notice information to those still onsite), and also a segment to send a generic reminder to everyone with spa appointments. (as all of the spa times were loaded as individual Sessions in the agenda).
that's a good idea. thanks for sharing. we definitely want to move toward personalization too.
Could Audience Segments be used today to only show Attendee hub content relevant to a virtual audience when you have a Hybrid event?
Based on Tori's answer, I can see ways we would potentially use this. Sometimes we do push notifications during an event, and being able to segment those out by things like leadership role would be useful (send one message to the people leading the next round of workshops, another to the people attending them, and another to the people responsible for guiding attendees from one workshop to the next)
Interesting question - following as well for the same reasons. We could utilize sub segments for certain events.
