  • 1.  Does anyone know of a way to easily copy the registration summary to become the registration confirmation email?

    Posted 08-22-2023 17:43

Seems to me this type of advanced functionality is missing, but maybe I've passed over something:

Does anyone know of a way to easily copy the registration summary (under registration>registration process) to become the registration confirmation email (under email>event emails>>registration confirmation)? I feel like this type of functionality should be present in a CMS like this, especially since the entire purpose of a CMS is to cut down on time spent designing, but I can't determine where I could find it.

    Any ideas? Please advise!

Add the "registration information" widget to the registration confirmation email. It includes the same information as the registration summary widget on the confirmation page.

The issue is that method does not preserve custom formatting, which is what I need to preserve for the email.  I hide headers and change text stylizations. Using the widget does only presents the system's generic lay out. How do I preserve my custom formatting?  Is there a way to do this without redoing all of the customizations again?

    Best,

You will have to redo the formatting in the email. You can't copy styles from web to email.

    Hi Jack,

I suggest using the standard widget - "Registration Information" for easily copying the invitee's registration information/responses that were displayed on the registration summary page into confirmation email. Aside, If you've used the custom styles, text formation, brand colors, etc.. using site designer on the registration summary page, these aesthetics won't appear in email designer. If you want to have the same aesthetics as per website summary, then this has to be designed / formatted on the email designer for the emails as well.

    Hi MJV,

Thank you for reaching out. You wrote:

I understand that. Having 20 years of experience building events using various CMSs including Joomla!, WordPress, Bootstrap, Drupal, and Cvent Classic to name a few, this seems like a feature that should exist to save time. Moving format and color values between an integrated website/email system shouldn't have to be done from scratch.

The aim of a CMS is to save time and not force a user to redouble efforts to duplicate created formatting. Since these systems are integrated, there isn't much of a reason to not have this feature beyond someone not wanting to make it available. It's disappointing to say the least. I would have thought that, since my time using the classic version of Cvent during my time at NATPE, that this 'do it all again from scratch' mindset would have improved in Cvent Flex.

    Best regards,
