  • 1.  Two separate events with a shared training day

    Posted 12-15-2023 22:26

We have a big meeting every year for our customers.  We have two different brands, so we have two meetings to accommodate each brand.  The meetings are essentially the same as far as, agenda, and content.  The only real difference is the branding/marketing and some speakers.  We have the first brand meeting on Tuesday and the second brand meeting on Thursday.  On Wednesday we have optional training that is open to both brands.  Each meeting needs their own registration, but the training registration needs to be shared/combined for both brands.  I would like to make it where they can register for the event and training at the same time instead of registering for the event and training separately.  I know this can be done during the registration set up for one event.    However, I am not sure this can be done for two events since the training is open to both brands and we need one rsvp form/sheet for the training of both brands.  We don't have limits on the registration for the meeting but the training classes we like to keep them under 45 people.  Would I have to essentially create a separate event and then link the registration for the training event within a separate training page on my event?    Has anyone done something like this before?  Is there a better or easier way to do this?

    Hello,

    Hope you are well!

I reviewed your query and what I understood is that you have 2 separate training events and you want the invitees to register under one event but should be able to register for both these trainings.

If this is the case then this can be achieved using the set up called Umbrella event. Here, you will create one event and keep the start and end date of the events from the start date of the first event to the end date of the last event. The events will be created as Admission items and the different trainings under these events can be created as sessions. Any session which is common for selection for both can be created as a session and made available for both the admission items.

    For example:

Lets say I have 2 events Event A and Event B. Each event has its own trainings = Event A : Training A, B and C / Event B : Training X, Y and Z. And there is a training G which is optional for both the events to select.

I will create 1 event and create Event A and Event B as Admission items in the event. Now, I will go under Agenda > Session list and will create the trainings as Sessions A, B, C, X, Y, Z and G as sessions.  Then, go back to the Admission items and click on Event A Item > Under Advanced settings, under availability section, associate sessions A, B, C and G and then same for Event B associate session X, Y, Z and G. Create the speakers and associate them to the sessions.
