I have setup registration so that only certain registration types are visible (the ones that are not visible are needed on the planner side) and it goes smoothly until someone creates a group registration. Once they select Add a Group Member, a pop-up appears showing all available registration types. Is there a way to customize this pop-up so that not all registration types are visible?

    Hi Sarah,

Have you looked at the Registration Path settings? From event home page, go to Registration > Registration Process in left margin, and then open Site Designer.

In Site Designer, click on the drop-down menu in top left that shows you all the pages in your site. Go to the Registration Paths section and click on the settings wheel to the right of the applicable Registration path.  In those settings, scroll down to Group Registration Settings and you'll see the toggle for "allow registrants to add group members" and below that you'll see a toggle to turn on "Limit registration types available for group members" and then a dropdown menu of your registration types, so you can select which types they can choose from.

I don't know if that will solve your issue but it might be worth just making sure those settings are set the way you want them. Good luck!

    Hi Sarah,

    Hope you are well!

Ms. Sue DePra has rightly provided you the correct solution. The "Limit registration types available for group members"  in the group registration within the registration path is present, so that you can limit the registration type which will be available to the group members.

Here's an article to give you more insight on this feature:

    Hi Sara,

Sue is correct in her response.  However, I would like to point out a situation when it does not work in this manner. Although you may have limited the group member to only choose certain registration types, it does not go back to the contact area to determine if that choice matches the person they are getting ready to add.  My workaround this year was to use invitation list types and it has been a decent workaround but not ideal.

    Example

A school district may have several individuals that are going to our annual conference and they assign one person to register the group, however, not all individuals are active members.  So if the first individual that is registered is an active member and the group leader adds an expired member, they will be able to choose an active member type for that second registration and the system will give them the active member rate because it doesn't verify against the contact record.
