I'm reaching out regarding a limitation we've encountered with the Air Travel Request Widget in Cvent. For our incentive programs, we purchase round-trip airfare for attendees, but we allow flexibility in their travel plans. Specifically, attendees may choose to extend their trip and return from a different airport than the one they arrived at.
For example, if our conference is in Maui, an attendee might fly from their home airport to Maui for the event, then extend their trip and return from Kona. We still book the round-trip flight, but the return leg originates from a different location.
Challenge: The Air Travel Request Widget currently only allows for one departure and one return airport. This setup doesn't accommodate our attendees who choose to return from a different destination.
What We Need: A way to collect and manage two sets of airport and date information:
- Outbound: Home Airport → Maui (Conference Start Date)
- Return: Kona → Home Airport (Post-Conference Date)
Why It Matters:
- We need this flexibility to support attendee extensions while maintaining accurate reporting and PNR management.
- We've tried using a custom question widget to collect alternate return airport info, but this data doesn't integrate with Air Actuals or PNR Management.
What We've Tried:
- Manually entering record locators for unmatched guests, though formatting inconsistencies (e.g., hyphenated names) still cause issues.
- Exploring confirmation regular expressions with our travel partner (Adelman Travel) to improve matching, but implementation is pending.
Could you advise if there's a recommended workaround or configuration that would allow us to support this travel flexibility within Cvent? We're open to creative solutions or enhancements that could help us better manage these itineraries.
