There are a couple of options to the solve the problem. I personally would have two registration types, general and membership.
- Two fees for your admission item
- Fee for General
- Fee for Members at the discounted price
- Upload the members into the "Invitation List"
- For extra mesures create 2 registration paths
- General
- Members
- In the path settings toggle on "Only those on certain invitation lists" choose the membership list
With a 1000 members you do want to make sure their registraiton process is smooth and you don't have to fix their registrations after the fact. The more restrictive you can make the registration on the backend the better you may be.
Hopefully there will be more suggestions, as I said there can be multiple ways to set up the event.
