Pretty sure the answer is no, but...

We have one reg type where there is one Admission item ($0 fee) and 2 sessions with fees.

Since there is only one admission we do not use the admission widget and it's automatically selected.

Session 1 ($20) is optional

Session 2 ($110) is required

I'd like to have session 2 automatically selected and charge $110.00.

Can't make it included with the admission item because the fee won't be charged.

Don't want to make the Admission item $110.00 because it will skew my financial reporting.

Currently invitees will get an error message to select the required session.

I'd like to avoid that.

I reviewed your query.

Since there is a fee for the sessions, these cannot be automatically included with the registration.

The only way is to either create the advanced rule to make it mandatory for them to select both the sessions, or adjust the fee of the admission item to include both the session fees in one fee and then optionally include the sessions with the admission item.
