This is my first post here at the Cvent community!

The situation
I have an event that's live and the attendees are both invitees and guests not previously in our Contacts list. Before going live, we created Internal Information fields for the guests that would allow for us to group them together for reporting and analysis purposes. There are a handful of strings of text for what we put for these internal fields.

As the guests were coming in, I made a report in Cvent to export to Excel so that I could add the strings of text for each guest so I don't have to go in to each guest record to update them one by one.

Now I want to upload this Excel and map the data in that column to the Internal Information fields for the guests so that I can publish a report to an Access Portal where the guests are grouped in a handy way.

The problem
I can't see any way to map a column in my Excel file to the Internal Information field for guests? Is this possible? 

Any suggestions would be very welcome. I am new to Cvent.

Hi Lauren - 

You can't use just any excel file for importing information back into Cvent.  You'll probably need to download and populate an "import template" file.  Here's an article that walks you through that process:

Tip:  The template will probably include more fields than you want to import in, so be sure to select "Do Not Import" for any fields where you don't want it pulled into your import.  If you pull in a field and it is blank in that column, it may override data in the contact record, which you don't want to do.  

Once the import is completed, you should be able to run a report to confirm that your data has been imported back in.
