  • 1.  Charging fees only if a registrant is a no-show

Has anyone ever run an event where you charge a registration fee, provide a discount code for clients to attend for free BUT only if they actually attend.  If they are a no-show, they are charged the fee.  I'm interested to hear if anyone else has done this.

I have not done this but am just starting to do some research on the same thing.  I would love to know if you find a solution.

    Hi Kim,

We've done this in a slightly different way before: we charged a fee upon registration, then issued gift cards for the same amount to all the participants. I guess you could also charge the fee upfront, then reimburse all participants, but that does come at a small cost to you due to the credit card fees.
