How has the post-COVID world with its drive for digital content in addition to in person events shaped Cvent's approach to new features?  Will we continue to see this demand for digital content in the future, or will the event landscape return to mainly in person content?  How is Cvent preparing for these changes, and what will be driving factors in product features and releases?

In the last few years, it feels like the industry has been reacting to the global situation with COVID and the push towards purely digital events by mainly playing defense.  How is Cvent changing to move from a reactionary position to a proactive approach to help shape the industry instead of reacting to it?

I'm asking Reggie this question because I'm wondering if he knows what goes on in his system. I'm curious to know why it was approved to release a new Agenda widget in Event Management that doesn't recognize the Registration/Contact Type set by the Invitation List unless you send the invitee to the registration form first? The old Agenda widget worked as it should (recognized the Reg Type assigned by the Invitation List) but was replaced with a new widget that doesn't even have the same functionality? Support informed me, "The current widget does not support other data tags or Registration specific weblinks as of now, but I will add this as strong feedback from your side to the case so that this is addressed in our future updates." We've actually LOST key website functionality with this "improvement" and now we can't run our large events in Cvent.

The work-arounds I was given by the Senior Escalation Desk Consultant was:

    1. We can add the RSVP Yes data tag in all our invitation emails which will let the invitees see intended sessions if they visit the agenda page. (meaning we have to send people to the registration form BEFORE they can see their correct agenda on the "Agenda" tab of the event website)
    2. We can create different webpages for different registration types and limit them accordingly. In these pages, we can either use Agenda at a Glance widget and add the sessions manually, or use a screenshot of the Agenda created in either the New Agenda Widget or outside of Cvent as well. However, I do understand that this may not work for you, as I know you have a lot of Registration types to work with.  (Seriously? The beauty of the Agenda widget was so that we didn't have to create separate ones. I have one event with 46 different registration types/agendas. Now I have to create 46 different agenda pages? I was already getting notifications that I'm almost at the max website limit of 12 MB.)

I realize that Cvent is a complicated, complex system. That's why I use it and recommend it to my clients, but when something basic like this happens it's extremely disappointing. How was this allowed to happen and why?

    Jill,

I recommend speaking with David Quattrone, Chief Technology Officer. I found him very approachable.
