  • 1.  Cvent Connect 2023 Meetup

    My colleague and I will be attending Cvent Connect 2023 and are interested to see if there is anyone attending that would be keen to meet up to discuss their experience and some best practices. Some things we are interested in discussing:

    • Invitation only events: We currently have a "request an invite" form separate outside of Cvent
    • Clean up of a large attendee database: We currently have 20k+ which includes duplicates, inactive, etc.
    • Mailchimp: We are looking at incorporating Mailchimp and would like to hear from other users that have incorporated it with Cvent

    • Clean up of a large attendee database: We currently have 20k+ which includes duplicates, inactive, etc.

    We needed to clean up our address book last year.

    First merge anyone who has the same source id or email address.

    Then I created a custom contact field.

    Ran the cross report Contact Event History to see who was marked accepted.

    Exported to excel. In my custome field I labeled each row either KEEP or PURGE.

    Then you can search the address book to remove those marked PURGE.

    Caution: There is no undo.

    I am attending cvent connect and interested in a meet up! I'm always interested in meeting people working in cvent and growing my connections! I am a total cvent nerd and have a lot of knowledge of the platform from my 10 years working in it.     Hello Amara,

    I will be attending CONNECT 2023 as well and would be interested to meet up. If you want to message me through the Attendee Hub and keep the conversation there. 

    We too have been cleaning up the address book & contacts over the past weeks. We started with duplicates, moved on to opt-out attendees, and uploaded that list into our CRM to keep them off future mailing lists, and then we deleted all old contact lists. It takes a little bit of time to make sure the list is clean and as Steven said there is no undo so take your time.

    We are also having Community Meet-Ups at Cvent CONNECT which are now available to add to your registration. These will be networking events where you can share tips and tricks and discuss different topics with other Cvent users. This could be a great opportunity for what you are looking for!
