Event Homepage

This is my time using Attendee Hub to build our state convention mobile app.  I have been the project manager for our convention's mobile app since 2012 and we have used CrowdCompass's Event Center from the start.  So, I'm not a rookie building a mobile app, but I am as rookie as they come using Attendee Hub.

With that in mind, I have created an event for our upcoming convention, but I am unable to find the event's homepage to begin customizing and eventually using the Event App Builder.  When I click on the event in my events listing, it is just giving me basic event details and there is not a left-hand navigation column that I keep reading about in all of the support documentation and videos.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hi Rhett!

It's a little tricky when you are used to CrowdCompass, I know! On your event's left hand navigation, click on "Attendee Hub > Website and App" then the blue "Manage website and app" button. Once you get inside there, you will see the left hand navigation for Attendee Hub and Event App. (they both build concurrently for most elements.)

    I hope that helps! :)

    Hi Rhett,
I am the same as you and just had my first app build in Attendee Hub app last month. Make sure that "Attendee Hub" is turned on within your event. If you can't see "Attendee Hub" in the left navigation, here's how to turn it on (that's if your account has it):

    • Within your event, under "General" on the left nav, click on "Event Features"
    • You will see the option for "Attendee Hub" and you'll want to make sure it is active
    • Once you activate "Attendee Hub," you will see it in the left navigation and can start building your mobile app

    Hope that helps.

Jill, thank you for your reply.  I don't see where to turn "Attendee Hub" on within the event.

    Hi Rhett,

You may still need to do the initial set up - from the home page of your event, click on the box in the top middle of the page that says "Set Up Event" and go through the steps to build out the event details. If you put that the event is hybrid (even if it isn't) Attendee Hub will automatically be activated as one of your features.

The attached screenshot shows what I "think" is the home page of my event.  Am I correct in thinking this?  Thank you for your assistance, Tori.  I greatly appreciate you.

Ah... yes, that is your home page, but you are using an older version of Cvent. I... actually haven't seen that version in a while, so I'm not sure if I can remember where to direct you, LOL! Possibly that top tab under "Event Details"?

I'm so sorry - I'm just drawing a blank. It's actually possible Attendee Hub isn't even compatible with the older version; I'm not sure. You might need to actually jump on a chat with support for that one.

But at least you know why now! And it's not you! :)

VERY HELPFUL INSIGHT!  Are there certain accounts that have to use the older version of CVENT or did I just happen to "stumble" onto it?  With that in mind, is there a different starting URL for the current version of CVENT? Thank you again.

I didn't actually think you could even access that version unless you copied over from a previous event that was built in it. Was this site copied? If not, again, you may want to jump on a chat with support and figure out why you are seeing it this way.

    Hi Rhett -

Before you copy events over, you may want to see if they were built on the legacy platform or the new "Flex Version" of events.  The reason your new event ended up the way it did was because it must have been copied over from the legacy (non-Flex) event platform.

You may want to check with your Cvent system admin to see if there are Flex templates that you should be using instead of copying from older events.  There are a number of big time savers that exist in templates that should save a lot of rework, including being able to use with Attendee Hub.

Good call out Tori, that's probably exactly what happened.  As Tori mentioned, if you check with Cvent Support, they can also probably help you confirm if you need to use a Flex Version or Attendee Hub version to build your event.

    Hope this helps!
