    Hello. I am trying to set up a single event with multiple event sessions that overlap during the same week. The sessions are exactly the same, just with different start and end dates. Attendees choose which session date range they want to attend, but can only choose one. I am struggling with how to set this up appropriately. Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Hello @Alex Yates,

    If I am understanding correctly you have multiple sessions for an attendee to choose from but the max number of sessions is one. 

    The setting for this is under the admission item. Registration > Admission Items > click the admission item name > under Advance Settings. You will see "Rules for Optional Sessions" and you can set the Maximum to 1. I generally set the Minimum to 1 as well to for the invitee to choose at least one session.

    This won't prevent them from clicking more than one session but when they click the next button they will see the following error message at the top: "Based on your admission item, you need to have exactly 1 sessions."

    You can also create a Session Group and associated the specific session which will only allow the invitee to choose 1 session from the drop down. 

    The last way which I think is very under utilize is Session Bundles but may not work with your event. Similar to session groups but the invitee is choosing multiple sessions at once to create their "track".

    In addition to James' suggestions, you could also create a different Admission Item for each of the options... this would allow you to give a more custom experience as you could tailor other information based on the Admission Item that they select.  For instance - if people that select session option A need to also select hotel for arrival on Monday and departure on Wednesday, but people who want to attend option B need to arrive at hotel on Tuesday and depart on Thursday, you can set up advanced rules based on the Admission Item to show the correct default dates to them when they get to that page of the registration process.  You can also restrict visibility of agenda items (sessions) based on the Admission item that they select - automatically including certain optional sessions for them based on their admission item.
