We are exploring a bilingual (French/English) seating-preference experience for a seated event. Our goal is not to let attendees select their final table or seat, but to allow confirmed guests to indicate up to a set number of people they would prefer to sit with. Ideally, attendees would search a controlled directory showing only first name, last name and company, then submit their preferences. Final seating would remain entirely at the organizer's discretion, taking into account capacity, protocol, VIPs, accessibility, dietary requirements and other operational constraints.
Our current thinking is to keep Cvent as the registration system of record, sync eligible and consented attendees into an Airtable via Zapier, and use either Airtable Forms or similar tool to collect preferences through separate French and English forms. The planning team would then review requests manually and assign final tables/seats in Cvent Event Diagramming. Where the Cvent Event Diagramming integration is enabled, the final assignments could sync back to Cvent; otherwise, we understand this may require a manual export/import process.
Has anyone built something similar within Cvent, used another tool alongside it, or found a more native way to collect tablemate preferences from a dynamic confirmed-attendee list?
