Hi Sean,
I wanted to follow up with a quick summary of how the opt-out page works in and what we can and can't change there.
-
The opt-out page isn't a separate page in Site Designer; it automatically uses the event website's default header and footer.
-
Because of that, we currently can't assign a unique header/footer just for the opt-out page or add a separate text widget only on that screen.
-
Any banner, event title, date, or "Register" button you see on the opt-out page is coming from that default header/footer and the language-management text.
Available options:
-
We can simplify the default header/footer (for example, logo only, no large banner or event details). This will also simplify what appears on the opt-out page.
-
Then, for your registration pages, we can create a registration-path-specific header with full branding, so registrants still see the richer design while the opt-out page stays minimal.
-
At the account level, we can also adjust the Opt In/Opt Out Page header text under Admin to better explain the difference between opting out vs. just declining an RSVP, though that change would apply across events.
There isn't currently a way to design a fully custom, per-event opt-out layout, but using a minimal default header plus a separate registration header is the best way to reduce "wasted space" for invitees who choose not to register.
Hope this helps!

Subject: How do you assign/which event header and footer appears for the Opt Out pages?
Here's hoping one of you has gone down this road. I've opened a case for this already but I wondered if anyone else has successfully changed the Header and Footer that appears for the the invitee that Opts Out.
It doesn't appear in the header and footer setting as a Page to select. It seems to use the one assigned to the Summary Page. I've tried to make default header and footer that was unassigned to any of the event pages to no result.
Its such a waste of space to show the event banner and other event information if they aren't registering. That's one of the reason the adjustments were all under the ADMIN account settings but moving to FLEX seems to have broken/changed that.
Since all the text that appears on those pages are either pulling from the the event information or from language management codes, there doesn't seem to be a switch available to change it. You also have very little control of how the management text appears.
I'd like to put some instructions there that I can use a text widget before they opt out. It be great to reiterate using the RSVP No or use the manage subscription page instead. Its also somewhat pointless to have the event information there if they aren't registering for the event.
