  • 1.  Issue setting up event with two registration types

    Posted 2 days ago

This is for a trade show event. We are hosting a pavilion and have a total of 6 booth spaces to bring companies to exhibit with us ie we are selling booth spaces. I need 2 registration types: New Exhibitors (booths $750 each) and Returning Exhibitors (booths $1500 each)

What's best way to set this up with CVent keeping track of booth space sold so it doesn't oversell. Ie utilizing Optional Items for a one booth, two booth option VERSUS a pull down quantity option etc.

or Is the only way to do it and monitor manually by creating a single booth admission item and a double booth admission item each with a New or Returning based fee connected to them?

Have tried both routes and for some reason with the first route I couldn't get a Registration Path to show up for either reg types I created. Tried a ton for hours and it just wouldn't work. Trouble shot, deleted all paths and types and then started again and I just can't get it to make it so Cvent monitors those 6 booths spaces correctly.

    Hi Matthew,

I did a little testing this morning and have attached a document with screen shots. I am hoping that what I do for one of our events will work for you. We set our booths up as sessions, with the booth name as the title. Then I create a session group with all of those "sessions" attached, and make that a required field for all of my exhibitors during registration. This allows the exhibitors to select the booth they want, and once it has been selected and registration has been submitted, the booth is no longer available in the dropdown for others to select.

To handle the different fees, in my testing, I created an discount code and auto-applied it to the reg type that would pay $750 instead of $1500.

I know there can be so many variables within registration, so I don't know if this setup will work with everything else you need, but I hope it helps!
