Hi Rebecca,
Hope you are well!
I have reviewed your query. Could you confirm how are the invitees being differentiated who is local and who is out of the city? What I can suggest for you is to create two registration types for local and out of city and add both of them to the same path. You do not have to create a separate path for them. Once this is done, you can create two advanced rules for Hotel Requests adding the filter for these rules basis registration types under 'Rule Association' setting. The rule for Local registration type will allow them to select 1 night with no shoulder date option and the rule for invitees out of the city will let them select more than 1 night with shoulder date option.
You can refer to the following article for your reference :

I hope this helps. Do let us know if you have any further questions.

Subject: Limiting dates available for hotel requests based on something other than Admission item or registration type
Hi, Does anyone know if it it possible to limit the dates available to book in the hotel request widget that aren't dependent on the admission item or registration type?
I'm setting up an event where everyone attends the whole event so I only need 1 admission item. The only thing that changes is that those who are local can only select 1 night of accommodation while everyone else who is travelling from further afield can select 2 or 3 nights accommodation with the option to request shoulder nights.
At the minute the only way I can see to do this is to limit by registration type or admission item. I was really hoping to keep the registration types streamlined so I don't need to create multiple registration paths. Is there anyway I can limit the check in/check out dates available by a custom contact field or some other type of question?
Thanks!
