I am looking to see if there is a way that you can limit the view of the travel widget should someone select a specific option on a question? For example if they are attending a different event after our event then we will not be able to provide travel, but if they are not attending then we can provide the travel.

This can be controlled by utilizing registration types and registration paths. With these options, the registrant would be kicked over to the correct path with the options they should have access to based on their selection. I'd recommend reaching out to your account team to request a strategy call. They can help brainstorm on the best set up possible for your event.
