Subject: Microsoft Teams version capable of RTMP?
Raashi,
Based on my conversations with Microsoft, plus my consulting with several existing users, it appears that any "Business" version of Teams will work, whether a standalone subscription to Teams or as part of a Microsoft Office 365 Business subscription.
The free and family versions of Teams do not support "Apps", and are therefore unable to load the needed "Custom Streaming" app..
Once installed, Teams still needs to be configured to turn on RTMP-Out before the "Custom Streaming" app can be loaded.
I have subscribed to "Microsoft Teams Essentials", and tested that it works with Cvent.

Hi Whit,
Hope you are well!
I got this checked and unfortunately, we cannot comment on what version of teams you would need as this is something that the support team of Microsoft teams can help you with. However, the set up has to be 'using an external platform' and then you can add in the RTMP URL and keys to stream the session.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Subject: Microsoft Teams version capable of RTMP?
We are planning for a virtual event where about 50% of presenters are only able to use Microsoft Teams, due to their employer's security requirements.
My organization does not use any Microsoft products, but we are the ones organizing/hosting the event and it would be a lot more convenient if we were able to be the Host of all presenter "meetings" on Teams so that we can readily link them to the Cvent Sessions.
I signed up for a free Microsoft Teams account - and looked for where to enter the "Stream Key" and "Stream URL". It is nowhere to be found, and Microsoft documentation seems to say that the account Admin must turn it on - implying that perhaps we need to purchase some version of the software that offers an Admin role, along with the ability to download the "Custom Streaming" app after launching the Teams meeting.
Microsoft Help Chat shows me a blank screen. The Microsoft phone support Bot refers me to help.microsoft.com (which does not offer an answer to my question) then hangs up on me.
Might anyone know what version of Microsoft Teams one needs to subscribe to in order to be able to enable RTMP-out streaming and be able to download the "Custom Streaming" app which will allow me to enter the "Stream Key" and "Stream URL"? Can one subscribe to it from the Microsoft website, or does one have to somehow get in touch with a Microsoft sales rep?
Any assistance or insights will be most welcome after many frustrating hours. Thank you!
