  • 1.  Mobile App Downloaded as my company's app not Cvent

    Posted 05-04-2023 20:08

We want to use the Cvent Mobile App functionality but our customers find it confusing to be searching/downloading a Cvent app and not an OpenText (My company) app. I understand there is a process and it takes longer but wondering if the functionality is still the same once we tie the app to the attendee hub. we would be using the Cvent app but it would be branded with our company name in the url etc. Does anyone have experience with this?

    Hi Renee,

My last company did branded apps; however, it was utilizing the old CrowdCompass version, not Event App. I would think the functionality would be the same though. The only thing that is changing is that your company is hosting the app platform rather than Cvent. I would be curious if there were any additional limitations to what could be changed after publishing to a branded app, but in theory, even that should remain the same - it just might take longer for an update to happen.

    Hi Renee,

    Thanks for your question!

The functionality of the app is the same whether you use the Cvent container app or self-publish using your developer licenses. Here are some helpful articles I recommend reviewing:

Those articles walk you through the steps to utilize a self-branded app. It's important to note that in order to publish your own app, you'll need both an Apple Developer account and Google Play Developer account. These can take up to four weeks to acquire. You will then submit the app (and any future updates) under your own accounts, or have a member of our team handle the app submission for you. Each update can also take Apple and Google up to two weeks to review and approve before it's live in stores.

    Hope that helps!
