The New Surveys provide space for  a Question Tag and a Question Code - why are both of these needed? I understand the Question Tag is used in Cvent Cross Survey reporting but is it used anywhere else and when /where is the question code used?

As you have accurately stated, "Question Tags" can be utilized in cross-event reports to analyze responses across multiple events. Conversely, "Question Code" is employed in reporting, as well as in question and answer data tags in emails, if there is a need to retrieve any of that information in emails.
