  • 1.  Texting Vs. Email Reminders

    Posted 06-13-2023 12:18

    Hi!

Does anyone know if texting capabilities will be added to Cvent Flex? I know it's available in attendee hub however, our main trainings we do not use Attendee Hub simply because of the size. It would be really nice if we could send out text reminders to our registrants like we do in emails as our main audience are educators and they do not utilize their email as much in the summer. Would love to know if anyone has found a workaround for this!

    Thank you :)

I have a better writeup somewhere.

This only works for invitees, not guests.

I created two custom contact fields

    SMS (format as email)

    Mobile Carrier (text)

I ask in the contact information for the mobile number and carrier (dropdown of the major carriers)
Also include the text in site designer.

By providing your cell phone carrier you agree to receive text messages from xx
The messages will only pertain to this event. This information will not be sold to any third party.
Please note that your carrier's standard text messaging fees will apply.

Export email address, first name, last name, mobile number, carrier, SMS

In excel I create an email address from the mobile number and carrier.
It takes some cleaning up of the mobile number.

Then I create an email address as 8001234567@vtext.com (for Verizon) Each carrier has their own domain.

I use this email address as a Cc email. Downside is that people will get two emails.
One to their regular email and another as a text.
    Doesn't work for session emails.
    Overall people have been pleased.

I format the text as text only.

    Hi Samantha,

    Hope you're doing great!

I read through your inquiry and unfortunately, we do not have texting capabilities available as of now in Cvent flex. However, if you have a tool that can send emails, then we could look at integrating, but we don't have an offering.

If you do and would like to know more about the integration, feel free to call our integration support at 866.318.4357 and press 1,1,1 and 4 to speak to our integration speciailist.

Additionally, I understand your perspective and apologize for any inconvenience. But, it sounds like a great feedback. I suggest you to post this as an Idea/feedback for our product team by going to Cvent Community > Participate > Product Ideas.

We encourage you to always submit your ideas or any challenges you face while working with the product. As it also help our Product Development team to review the possibilities and if it works we may try to incorporate such changes in our future releases.

    Thanks,
    Shaifali Sharma
