I have a better writeup somewhere.
This only works for invitees, not guests.
I created two custom contact fields
SMS (format as email)
Mobile Carrier (text)
I ask in the contact information for the mobile number and carrier (dropdown of the major carriers)
Also include the text in site designer.
By providing your cell phone carrier you agree to receive text messages from xx
The messages will only pertain to this event. This information will not be sold to any third party.
Please note that your carrier's standard text messaging fees will apply.
Export email address, first name, last name, mobile number, carrier, SMS
In excel I create an email address from the mobile number and carrier.
It takes some cleaning up of the mobile number.
Then I create an email address as 8001234567@vtext.com (for Verizon) Each carrier has their own domain.
I use this email address as a Cc email. Downside is that people will get two emails.
One to their regular email and another as a text.
Doesn't work for session emails.
Overall people have been pleased.
I format the text as text only.

Subject: Texting Vs. Email Reminders
Hi!
Does anyone know if texting capabilities will be added to Cvent Flex? I know it's available in attendee hub however, our main trainings we do not use Attendee Hub simply because of the size. It would be really nice if we could send out text reminders to our registrants like we do in emails as our main audience are educators and they do not utilize their email as much in the summer. Would love to know if anyone has found a workaround for this!
Thank you :)
