I believe we've answered this question under your other query on 'Missing information in Survey Answers Details By Question'. I am providing the same resolution for you under this query as well below :
Link logic lets you personalize a question's answers based on a previous custom contact field or question's response. You can only link items that use choice question formats. This means link logic is neither available as the source nor as the follow-up question when the question type is Text (open-ended text field or comment box).
You don't need a special separate widget to access link logic - but you do need the right question type widget in place. Specifically:
- Both the source question and the follow-up question must be Choice question widgets dragged onto the canvas in Site Designer.
- The source choice question must already be placed on the registration form before you can reference it in link logic.
- Once a choice question is on the canvas, click it → go to Visibility Settings on the right panel → click Link Logic to configure it,
Note: Link logic is also not available for Matrix questions - only standard single/multi-answer Choice questions.
If the intent is to show or hide a text question based on what someone answered to a previous question, the right feature to use is Visibility Logic (Question Visibility Logic / Show for Specific Registrants) - not link logic. Visibility logic can be applied to text questions to show or hide them based on a prior choice answer, registration type, or contact field value.
