You can also reference the articles below you as you are setting up your event waitlist-
To answer your second question, you would create a registration path specific weblink under Marketing > Weblinks > Create Link > Select Registration Path under 'If invitees arrive from this link, they will go to.' You would then copy that link and insert it behind text or a button within an event email that you are sending to those invitees who you are allowing to register.
I also wanted to ensure you are aware that registration paths are based on registration types, therefore you would need to create a new registration type and associate it to the new registration path under the registration path settings in order for these invitees to successfully register.

To start the event waitlist I would have set the capacity in Registration --> Registration Settings and be sure waitlist is enabled in your registration path(s)
If you increase the capacity you can use the waitlist notification email to who you want to register from the waitlist. And if you want to be sure no one registers that you don't want, you can either password protect it or maybe create a new reg path and use a weblink.
DId you have people select waitlist through cvent?

I am new to Cvent and having the most challenging time, which Support or the Success Team can't seem to help with.
My (in person) registrations are full and the the registration link has been disabled to activate the waiting list. However, the registrations aren't really full, I have kept a handful up my sleeve (as you do). The waiting list form is a very simple one, and I now need to send out the registration form to those we would like to accept for a place. However, I have no idea how to do this. I would love some help. Cvent has told me I will have to upload the registrations manually because it isn't a simple matter of a cancellation and the system kicking in to email those on waiting list.
Surely, I don't have to ring them and ask them to complete the form with me over the phone! There must be a way I can send them a link to the form and a special code to register?
Thanks for any help you can give me. Really appreciate it.
