  • 1.  Website headers - surely it should be easier?

    Posted 04-20-2023 16:17

Is it just me or is the formatting of website headers unnecessarily complicated? In order for the header to be responsive I need to layer in my background image and then logo image and event title image separately. My image is always cut off, logos and event title are in the wrong place and I end up spending hours adding spacers to try and get it right or hours on chat with support. If I add the header in as one image I get the same issue with the image being cut off and spacers needed but then the header also doesn't resize if being viewed on a mobile phone and parts of the image can't be seen. I follow the sizing guidelines for the images. Surely there has to be a simpler way of adding in a website header without taking hours.

In the past I added my header image directly to the page. Of course you would need to add it to each page.
Doesn't solve the original issue, but it's how I worked around it.

    Hi Rebecca,

    Hope you are well!

If you are using a bigger size image, then it could create problems with the size. Also, the section background image is not screen responsive.

The ideal header image size should be
1920 pixels wide and the height could be according to your requirement.

To make the header image screen responsive, we usually suggest using the image widget in the header instead and add the header image within this widget. Another alternative is that you can create the header image with the logo and event name outside of Cvent (within the header image size specified) and then add it within the image widget in the header. This way, the header will be screen responsive.

However, when using image widget to display the header, you need to select if the image should display as 'Scale-to-Fit' or 'Fixed Background' and check which option fits the best for your header image.
