  • 1.  abandoned submissions

I love being able to see submissions that are in the works and what stage they are at in the process ( step 1, step 2 etc.) however I wish there was a way to differentiate between someone who has just visited the website versus someone who is working on a submissions versus someone who was working on a submission and how now submitted it for the purpose of sending specific emails. For example my "abandoned" submissions list included speakers/sessions who have actually already submitted, as well as speakers who are in the process of submitting maybe on step 1 or 2, and people who took a look at the home page but haven't yet started a submission. Currently I have to pull my abandoned list and cross reference it with my submission list to avoid sending a "don't forget to complete your submission before the deadline" email so i can go in and check off those who actually need to receive learned this lesson after sending one email to all abandoned submissions and then began receiving emails from submitters asking if I didn't get their submission did they need to resubmit only to find out they were on the abandoned list but in fact did already submit. Any ideas out there on another work around or how to really read the abandoned list.

Perhaps as a future update there could be a filter or auto filter of those who are working on the submission, those who looked at the website and left and those who do finally submit to be removed form that abandoned list.  thank you!

    Hi Cara,

Thank you so much for taking the time to outline how you're using Abstract Management and where the current view of abandoned submissions is creating confusion for you and your speakers.

You're exactly right that today the abandoned list doesn't clearly distinguish between someone who only visited the site, someone still working through steps 1–2, and someone who has since completed and submitted, which is why you've had to manually cross‑reference before sending reminder emails. At the moment, that manual check (or exporting both abandoned and submitted lists and reconciling them in a spreadsheet) is the safest way to target truly incomplete submissions.

I've passed your request for more granular status filters (e.g., visited only, in‑progress, and submitted/removed from abandoned) to our product team, as it would make it much easier to automate your reminder campaigns.

    Hope that helps!

    Julianna
