  • 1.  Allowing access to one event

    Posted 08-09-2023 18:03

Is there a way to only give access to one event within Cvent with permissions? I have a client who would like to manage their invitations for their event on my company Cvent license, yes I know not ideal. Is there a way to only give the client access just to invitations with their event? Thank you for you help on this matter.

    Hi Jason,

Seems like publishing a report to the access portal would work for this, if you have it?

    Kind regards

    Hi Jason,

    Hope you are well.

You can certainly give access to only one event to a user with specific permissions.

You'll have to create a new user role in the event and give access to specific permissions that you would want to assign to the user and then assign that user role to the user.

To create the user role, please go to your Cvent Account > Admin > Users > User roles > create user roles > give it a name > scroll down > start selecting 'Yes' or 'No' for the different accesses > finish.

Once this is done, you can go to Users > Users > click on the username of the user > edit > change the user role to the one you created > Save.

Then, within the same username, go to Visibility settings > Edit > scroll down to Events > User access > select No for 'This user can view all events in this account' > Select Yes/No for other access on this page > save.

This will ensure that the user will not see all the events. Now, from your event's list, go to the event that you want to give access to the user > General > Event settings > Visibility tab > Edit > scroll down to Users > check the box next to the user's name > Save.

Apart from this, you can also use Event Roles to assign the access if you do not want to create a separate user role.

You can also refer to the following articles for your reference :
