I'm trying to find a way to assign registration type when an attendee uses group registration. For example, a HR person registers a person for training and clicks add group member. I would the registration type to be the same as the first person they registered. Right now, it gives them options for registration type again. 

I thought there was a way to do this without using registration paths. Am I wrong?

We do not natively support automatically assigning the same Registration Type to all group members during group registration. Each group member is prompted to select a registration type, even if the group leader has already selected one.

The only way to enforce or default a registration type for group members is by using Registration Paths with appropriate logic, or by limiting the available registration types in the Registration Type widget for group members.

Without Registration Paths, there is no built-in setting that allows group members to automatically inherit the registration type selected by the first registrant. As a result, manual selection is required for each group member.

Workarounds:

• Limit registration type options for group members by configuring the Registration Type widget to display only one option (if your event setup allows).

• Provide clear instructions to the group leader to select the same registration type for each group member during registration.
