That is correct. Are you using Attendee Hub for your events? If so, then we definitely recommend using the standard field for mobile number as that is what connects to attendees sending their verification codes to log into Attendee Hub. But if you are not, you could consider creating a custom contact field for mobile number instead (but again, this would not connect to Attendee Hub in any way, so would not recommend this route if you are using that tool.)

Thanks! From reading the notes, I'm assuming that this feature might not work if we aren't using the Cvent-standard "Country" field, as that's being used to populate the phone country code?
Unfortunately we need to use a custom Country picklist in order to match the list that's used in our Marketo and Salesforce instances.

Is there a way to disable the policing of formatting for phone numbers in registration forms, particularly for the inclusion of country codes?
We'll commonly run registration for events in non-local countries, but where it's expected that registrants will all be from the local country. Given that they are local, it is not intuitive for them to include the country code when submitting a registration form, but the Cvent form pops up a warning when it is omitted or not in the expected format. Can the validating of phone number fields be disabled, so that it accepts whatever format a user submits?
