You can create a discount code with the method as 'Subtract a percentage' and add the percentage as 50% > This discount can be used by: Invitees and Guests >
Also count guests towards the discount code's capacity: Yes, count guests and primary registrants > Automatically apply this discount: No > Apply this discount to: Select the option you want to apply the discount to. So if you select 'Each of the following agenda items' then the system will discount each of the items selected and reduce the amount in half. If you select 'The Final total' then the system will reduce the final amount due by 50% which will be the same as buy 1 get 1.
Another way to set it up is by volume discount. This will be applied automatically and will be activated only if the invitee is adding a guest or a group member to their registration. So anyone who will add a guest or a group member and select the items associated to the discount, it will be applied to them. In volume discount, you will have to select the discount type as 'Volume discount' > Threshold: 0 > Method: Subtract a percentage > Amount/Percentage: 100.00 > Once the threshold is exceeded, apply this discount to: Repeatedly at a specified interval after the threshold > Interval: 2nd > Select the Registration Items you want the discount to be applied to > Click on Save.
A third way of setting this up is as follows : If the second person invitee adds is a guest or a group member, create a separate registration type for them (like complimentary attendee) and create a separate admission item for them without any fees. This way, when the invitee adds the second invitee as a guest or a group member, they will have their own admission item with no fees so they will be registering them for free.

Hi All,
Need help please - We're doing a buy 1 get 1 free promo for a targeted VIP list and there's a set rate for them which is lower than the full price. From that price they get the 2nd person attending free. I can't get my head around setting this up.
