Hi Stephanie,
I think it's one of these two things:
1) Do you have the Registration Type widget on the guest information page, automatically assigning them as a guest type, with that type assigned to the free admission item?
2) When you click on the guest registration widget, do you have this toggle turned off? I believe this may auto-assign them to the same admission item as well as the same schedule.
