  • 1.  Hiding an event location on the public event calendar

    Posted 8 hours ago

    Hi everyone!

We are organizing a scientific conference that is composed of many sessions across a huge conference hotel. I would love to use the sessions' location to specify the specific rooms in which the sessions will be taking place in, so that it can also show in the Attendees Hub, but it seems like it is not possible to hide the location of these sessions on the event calendar (which is public on our organization's website). Our event locations cannot be disclosed to the general public - we only communicate the city the event will take place in, but if I want to show the specific sessions on the event calendar, it seems like I cannot hide the conference hotel. Do you know if there is a way to do this?

    Thank you for your help!

    Good morning!

I know you can restrict session visibility based on the registration types and audience segments. That can be the work around to not letting the general public see the agenda items - the downfall, it will hide the entire session. I know it is not ideal, but if you want anyone to see the agenda, but not the details, on the event website, manually enter the agenda or have a 'High Level' agenda listed in place. Then only the attendees that are registered will be able to see the full agenda with the locations.

    Hi Isabel-

We use the agenda at a glance on the website prior to registration. However, if you absolutely need to have the location, have you considered session custom fields? That way you can still have the complete agenda on the website, but can potentially show this only on Attendee Hub or in Session Confirmation Emails.
