Hi - Several years back we set up an event having the question which defined the Registration Path on a downline page. It worked but it was so clunky and sometimes Cvent had a hiccup and got caught 'circling'. Since then we've tried a couple of different things for this client. One year we had a couple of defining questions that were Custom Contact fields, and then based on the questions, it selected their Reg Type & Reg Path for them. (Are you a ......, registering for ..... - both had dropdown menus). This worked better but still had some flow issues. When it went from the Identity Confirmation page to the next, it first showed an error in red, but then caught up to its self and progressed through without any other blips. Forward a few years and we now have the first page with definitions of each Registration Type listed out in text, and then they select their Reg Type to move on. Good luck on deciding how to handle it on your event!

I think ideally your default path (Registration A in this case) should have all the registration type widget with both selections available on the first page at the top, before any of the personal information fields. Once the attendee selects "A", it sends them down that path; if they select "B" it moves them to the other path.
I was curious what happens if you do it the way you described though, and when I tested it, I filled out the first page, then selected the different registration type on the second and it just sent me back to the first page of the path that I needed to go down. The existing information I had filled in was still there. So I guess your process would work, but they would still be sent back to start over, (which makes sense in case there are different questions or information fields in the new path). It may possibly confuse registrants a little, though.

Let's say I have Registration Path A (default path) for Registration Type A and Registration Path B for Registration Type B.
Let's say someone starts the registration process without a registration type assigned. On the third page (of the default Registration Path A) they are designated as Registration Type B. Will they start the registration process over on the next page (dictated by the Registration Path B) or will they continue with the process?
