I set up a registration, and I have it required for attendees to submit a 300 word biography. When I pull up the Survey Answer Details by Question report......I cannot find said 300 word biography. Am I looking in the wrong place?

    Hello Amanda,

    I hope you're doing well!

The Bio field is a standard contact field, so there isn't a standard event report that includes it. This is a known limitation because the Bio is stored at the contact/profile level rather than as event registration data. As a result, it doesn't appear in reports such as Registrant Details or Survey Answers.

A practical workaround is to export the Bio field from the attendee list:

    1. Go to Event > Attendees > Attendee List.
    2. Select the attendees you want to include.
    3. Choose Bulk Actions > Export.
    4. Add the Bio field to the export.

I also noticed that your current user role doesn't include permission to export contacts. You'll need to reach out to your account administrator and ask them to either grant you the necessary access or export the report on your behalf.

Alternatively, if collecting attendee bios is part of the event registration process, you can use a registration question instead of the standard Bio contact field. Since registration question responses are stored as event data, you can include them in event-level reports.
    Adding Registration Questions

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

    Regards,

Thank you Sanjog. I'm still confused; if the Bio information is considered a limitation, how do I access the info when a registrant answers that field? Shouldn't I sitll be able to access the info without a work around way?

    Hi Amanda,

I completely understand why that would be confusing. At this time, this is a system limitation. The standard Bio field is stored at the contact level, which means it isn't currently available in standard reports. The only way to access this information is by exporting your contacts or attendees, where the Bio field is included.

If it's important for you to report on biography information, a good workaround is to capture it using either a custom contact field or a registration question. Data collected through those methods can be included in standard reports, making it much easier to filter, analyze, and export alongside your other reporting data.

We understand how valuable it would be to have the standard Bio field available in reports, and we've shared this feedback with our product team for future consideration as they evaluate potential improvements.

If you have any questions about setting up a custom field or registration question, I'd be happy to help. Thank you!

    Regards,

I understand thank you. In the meantime, what can I do in my registration page to make this accessible and what I need for my event? If you have the time to help, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

    Hello Amanda,

    You're welcome!

If your event is already live and you've already collected attendee bios using the current Bio field, you can ask your administrator to export the bios and share them with you.

    Steps:

    1. Go to Event > Attendee List.
    2. Select all attendees.
    3. Click Bulk Actions > Export.
    4. Include the Bio field in the export and complete the export process.

If your event is not yet live, the easiest option is to remove the Bio field in Site Designer and replace it with a Text Question on the registration form to collect attendee bios instead.

    Steps:

    1. Go to Site Designer.
    2. Delete the Bio field.
    3. Add a Text Question to collect attendee bios.
    4. Publish your changes.

Once registrations are submitted, you can run a report to view the responses to the registration question.

If you need any assistance making these changes or have any other questions about setting up your event, I'd be happy to help!

    Regards,

Hi Sanjog Rana! You've been such a great help. Can you help me with another issue? I'm trying to set up a link logic to one of my text questions in my event's page. Is there a certain widget I need to set up to access link logic?
