    • How do you currently find and manage venues and vendors?
      • Using the Cvent Suppliers tool to send and track RFPs. I search for appropriate properties and can learn more about them to determine if I want to request an RFP. 
    • Have you had challenges negotiating with venues and vendors lately?
      • Yes, I've found it's a challenge to get timely responses from most vendors and venues. When I do get a response, the offers are not very competitive and the vendors do not have much room to negotiate. Date availability is also an issue, even for future years!

    • How do you currently find and manage venues and vendors? We've recently gotten back to using Cvent to source our vendors. Historically we have always used customers venues, but found that going through Cvent kept them more competitive for the best price.
    • Have you had challenges negotiating with venues and vendors lately? A few venues that we've reached out to don't use the Cvent platform, although they are listed, so their responses were delayed.

      • Currently we go on site visits, and have long standing relationships with some hotels/preferred vendors. 
    • Have you had challenges negotiating with venues and vendors lately?
      • Seems everyone is shaking the rust off, but happy to be hosting in-person again! The biggest challenge is getting used to the lead time again. Things book up quickly!

    • How do you currently find and manage venues and vendors?
      • It depends on the event. We are just getting back to in-person events, and this year has been very small dinners or client appreciation at golf events or ball games, so we are researching on our own and reaching out to vendors without using the Cvent software. We haven't had a true RFP situation since before COVID.
    • Have you had challenges negotiating with venues and vendors lately?
      • the quality of customer service has dipped a bit - poor follow-through in some cases.

    • How do you currently find and manage venues and vendors? We work with external planners to help with venue sourcing and management as well as event vendors
    • Have you had challenges negotiating with venues and vendors lately? some challenges, especially with venues. Pricing has gone up, fewer amenities included, and post-COVID we've found that venues are adding more stipulations to prevent cancellations, so there's a bit more there to sift through.

    • How do you currently find and manage venues and vendors? Cvent and general searching. For hotels we have contacts we work with. For unquiet vendors we'll rely on searching through articles on sites like BizBash or funny enough unique wedding venue sites have helped a lot in the pace.
    • Have you had challenges negotiating with venues and vendors lately? Yes. There's not a lot of negotiation tactic, especially when venues are so full up lately it seems.

    Great questions and awesome for me to read!  As a hotelier your comments are very important and I use them to build better client service.  A common thread is response time and I can report that the Westin Tampa Bay is under a 4 hour response time! Thank you all again for the valuable insight!
